Buying Paintings in Nicaragua is Fun

understatement of the year.  the colors and vibrancy in central America are well documented, but through my modest travels in Nicaragua and Costa Rica, the nearly-500-year-old colonial city of Granada offers some of the brightest, most unique and fun paintings I have ever come across.

this an artist - Roberto -  outside his Granada house with one of the paintings I bought from him.  Its fair to say that this is THE STATEMENT PIECE of the gallery.  cant wait to hang it.

Lease is signed, sealed and delivered.  Beginning February 1, 2014, the first floor of 951 East Passyunk avenue (7th & Carpenter & Passyunk) officially belongs to Makers Dozen.  expect it to be about two weeks before the big move-in goes down

a pointer for anyone thinking of renting a commercial property: find a lawyer or expert in the field of commercial lease contracts.  I was lucky to have a father and brother with more experience reading and editing leases than me.  the original version I received had the potential to make my experience a disaster: it left me responsible for ALL damage to the entire property which also includes two residential units on the 2nd and 3rd floor.
